Activities of daily living

  • Changes and transitions in the routine

  • Tying his/her shoe laces

  • Using utensils

  • Getting dress independently 

  • Tolerating the texture of certain fabrics

  • Brushing teeth 

  • Eating (selectivity, texture. etc.) 

  • Bathing and grooming

 

 

Fine Motor Activities

  • Pencil grasp

  • Colouring, drawing, tracing

  • Grasping and manipulating small objects

  • Hand-writing 

  • Use of scissors, eraser, ruler

 

 

Gross Motor Activities

  • Clumsy, falls frequently 

  • Bumps into things or people

  • Posture (sitting, standing)

  • Sports and physical activities

  • Movement through space (swings, changes in head position through space)

  • Exploring playground equipment

  • Jumping, hopping, skipping, running, compared to his peers

  • Learning to ride a bicycle 

 

 

Academics:

  • Attending and following instructions

  • Following steps

  • Copying from the board or from a book

  • Aligning numbers in math

  • Sitting still at a desk

  • Completing tasks within time compare to his/her peers

  • Keeping his/her desk organized 

  • Preparing his/her school bag

 

Social integration and Play

  • Participating in class games (songs, movements, imitation games, etc.)

  • Interacting and playing with peers 

  • Initiating pretend or symbolic play

  • Completing puzzles and other games requiring organization skills 

  • Explore through messy play

  • Participate adequately in Rough and Tumble play

As a pediatric occupational therapist, I provide services primarily to children and adolescents aged 0- 21 years old.

Your child may benefit from Occupational therapy (OT)  if he/she presents with difficulties in any of the following domains of occupation:

I cater to children and adolescents with or without a medical diagnosis.
